Few words on Modern Capitalism and Other Essyas | মর্ডান ক্যাপিটালিজম


The essays collected in this volume, written over a period of fifteen years (1956-1971), are divided into two parts. The first part comprises eight essays dealing with various aspects of capitalist reality and criticizing latter-day theories of capitalist reality. The second part brings together three essays expounding and evaluating Marx's contribution to our understanding of capitalism as it has developed in the century since the publication of Das Kapital. There are repetitions in both parts, not only in author’s own exposition but also in the quotations from the works of others. The author should have liked to eliminate these repetitions, but it proved impossible to do so without destroying surrounding contexts. Each essay has its own distinctive purpose and emphases, while at the same time being closely related to one or more of the others in point of subject matter. That there should be a certain amount of overlapping was therefore unavoidable.
